Big smiles for boys' first walleyes
Kai (left) and Riku Pasch of Grand Forks, ages 11 and 9 respectively, each caught their first walleyes Memorial Day weekend during a family excursion to Gimli, Man., on the west shore of Lake Winnipeg. According to their dad, Timothy Pasch, who shared the photos, the boys caught the fish from a fishing pier, where anglers were catching pike and walleyes -- or “pickerel,” as people call them in Manitoba -- all weekend. “This was an incredibly exciting time for them!” Timothy Pasch said of his sons. “The fishing there was spectacular.” Click on the image to see the complete photos.
