EAGAN, Minn.—With starting left guard Nick Easton likely out for the season, starting center Pat Elflein on the Physically Unable to Perform list, and starting right guard Mike Remmers out with an ankle injury, the Vikings' offensive line has seen better days. While both Elflein and Remmers are expected to be ready for the Sept. 9 season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, the Vikings might want to considering looking at the free agent market. Here are some names they could target:
MINNEAPOLIS—It took about 10 seconds to realize Maya Moore was back at Lynx practice Monday afternoon at Mayo Clinic Square. In addition to watching the star guard score buckets seemingly at will, everyone in the gym could hear her screaming before, during and after almost every possession.
ANAHEIM, Calif.—Joel Eriksson Ek is still quite shy with the media. The 20-year-old Swede is extremely soft-spoken, usually keeping his answers short and to the point. That doesn't matter to the Wild, though, as long as Eriksson Ek does his talking on the ice. The Wild called the 6-foot-2, 200-pound center up from the minors on Wednesday's off day, and there's a good chance he'll be back in the lineup for Friday's game against the Anaheim Ducks at the Honda Center.
