ST. PAUL -- For Buffalo Sabres forward Kyle Okposo, a visit to his beloved hometown has come to feel like just another stop on a road trip these days.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Sometimes when you've got a mess at home, visitors help you clean up. And sometimes they just make a bigger mess. St. Lawrence's Michael Ederer scored on his team’s only shot in overtime, to make things just a bit messier for the Minnesota Gopher hockey team on Friday, Nov. 16. Minnesota had rallied from a two-goal deficit only to fall 4-3 to the Saints.
MADISON, Wis. -- With winds howling and light snow falling outside the Kohl Center, the Gopher hockey team still produced a lightning strike inside. Ben Brinkman, Rem Pitlick and Ryan Norman all scored for Minnesota in a 74-second span in the second period, erasing a two-goal deficit and lifting the Gophers to a 3-2 win at Wisconsin in the Big Ten opener for both teams.
MINNEAPOLIS -- Making new friends is part of the adventure when you start a new job. For Gophers hockey coach Bob Motzko, now a month into his new role at Minnesota, making new enemies will be important as well.
