Burst pipe douses East Grand Forks High School, damages ceiling
EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. — A burst ceiling water pipe caused damage to East Grand Forks High school late this past weekend.
Fire crews responded to the scene at around 11 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, and found water flowing from the north end of the building. The district's superintendent of schools said a pipe froze from the cold weather. Water damaged ceiling panels and flowed into the parking lot.
Custodians and fire crews spent about two hours cleaning up the mess. Sheet rock and pipe both need to be replaced, the district said, though it is still unknown know how much the damage will cost to repair.
